CYE, in partnership with the Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors, hosted an event where youth discussed their discontent on issues of violence, cyberbullying and many others with movers and shakers of the community, who provided testimonies of their own personal experiences. Poems were performed by a local bright and upcoming artist, Keith Davis and the event was moderated by the president of the CYE's S.W.A.G division, Makiya Wilburn.
Below are comments made by attendees.
The LIT (Listen I’m Talking) Community Youth Forum was absolutely overwhelming 😭! (Had me in tears!) Sharing more soon. Thanks to all who came out! 🙏🏾

It was such an honor to perform a few poems at Sinnessa Wilburn and her team’s “LIT” Youth Forum. I appreciate the opportunity to spread love, positivity, and understanding to the youth of today.
As adults we can get headstrong, and think that we know all the struggles of today's youth. We can learn a lot if we sit down and listen.
I Enjoyed sitting on the #CYE #LIT panel listening to brave young adults Express themselves through poetry and testimonies! Major #salute to everyone who played a part in creating a platform for the youth to have their voices heard!
This forum allowed the young people a platform to share their discontent on issues they face daily.
CYE in partnership with the State Attorney General Office, Care Lodge, Meridian Fire Department, and BBV2M LLC held an information session to alert parents and children of human trafficking activities taking place right under their noses. The event was an eye opener for the young and old alike.
